This is my mother-in-law’s secret recipe for authentic Punjabi chickpeas, flavored with tea, whole spices and pomegranate seeds in a piquant sauce.

HOW TO USE:
Combine sauce with 2½ cups canned chickpeas (rinsed and drained). Use ½ cup water to rinse out any sauce remaining in the jar and add. Simmer for 7-10 minutes. Taste for salt and garnish with fresh cilantro (optional). Enjoy hot with rice or naan. Serves 4.

TIP: Delicious as a base for chicken, lamb, seafood, egg and vegetable curries.
