Mezcal Margarita⁠

While you can make this with tequila, mezcal just takes it to the next level. The smokiness of the mezcal combined with the ever so slightly bitter Cocci Americano and maple syrup, is actually a little dangerous!⁠

Make some Masala Mama Tacos and a jug of this drink and enjoy!⁠

Ingredients
2 oz Mezcal
1 oz Cocchi Americano (Cointreau or Triple Sec will also work)⁠
½ oz Maple syrup or honey
1 oz Lime juice (more if you like a tarter margarita)⁠
1 oz Grapefruit juice (Orange juice works too)⁠

Directions

  1. Put martini glass in the freezer to chill, at least 15 min in advance. I tend to leave a couple of glasses in the freezer permanently! ⁠

  2. Combine all the other ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake-shake. ⁠

  3. Taste and adjust sweet and sour to your liking. Strain into chilled glass. Garnish with some mint leaves or a thin slice of grapefruit.⁠

    Note: You can have it on the rocks also, if straight up is too strong⁠!
