Everything I ate here the other night was exceptional. The Watermelon Chaat Salad was the best version of this dish I've ever had. I have to go back here at least once more this summer just to eat another bowl of this.

This Brooklyn company, which produces a line of vegetarian Indian sauces, has opened a summer pop-up for delivery, takeout or counter-service dining that will operate through the end of September. Everything is vegetarian and home style.

Nidhi Jalan, the chef and founder of Brooklyn-based food company Masala Mama, has a new vegetarian Indian pop-up residency in Gowanus. The menu (which is full of things like sourdough naan, saag made with kabocha squash, and vegan dishes using handmade, kettle-style tofu sourced in Connecticut) is available for in-person dining as well as takeout and delivery until September.

You never know where your next great meal might come from. My meal from the Masala Mama Pop-up, which was great, came because a friend goes to the same gym as one of the people who opened the temporary restaurant in a Chinese restaurant not too far away.
